Liability

All international students who are sponsored by Atma Jaya Catholic University are subject to rules, regulations and expectations of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia including:

  1. Prohibition on involvement in political activities and demonstrations
  2. Prohibition of paid working
  3. Adhering to the standard dress code on campus
  4. Signing a statement which convey the will to obey Indonesian law and university regulations while in country

Any of personal loss, injury, theft and damage, etc, occurring during the international students’ stay and study in Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia will be the international students’ own responsibility. Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia will not be responsible for such damages.

 

Disciplinary measures

Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia will enforce disciplinary measures when a student’s behavior runs the risk of landing students in trouble with law or placing the reputation of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia in jeopardy.

Actions that would prompt a response from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia include:

  1. Culturally insensitive behaviors (eg. abusive behaviors towards locals, failure to adhere to morality norms, breaching boarding house regulations)
  2. Failing to abide by basic program rules (eg. failure to attend classes without valid excuse)
  3. Any illegal activities (eg. drug taking, prostitution, bribery)

Generally, problems resulting from misunderstanding can be solved easily and amicably. We are willing to assist you in coming to terms with the different aspects of life in Indonesia.

 

Campus regulations

Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia implements strict rules regarding to certain issues as follows:

Dress code

Female students should wear proper clothing during their classes or their presence in Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. Therefore, female students are supposed to wear:

  1. Pants/Skirts that cover their legs to a point below knees
  2. Dresses/blouses that cover shoulders, armpits, midriff and breasts

Male students are required to wear T-shirts, shirts or batik with a collar, and long pants or jeans.

Both female and male students are not allowed to wear slippers, sandals, thongs, and shorts during their classes or in any other places within the Atma Jaya campus.

Smoking

Liquor and Cigarettes are never allowed to be brought or consumed inside Atma Jaya.

Smoking is prohibited in Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. Atma Jaya is a smoking-free campus.

If you are caught by the security for smoking and drinking, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia has their right to impose consequences against you.

Rules on classes

In order to be able to participate in final examination, students must fulfill the 75% of attendance. Otherwise students will not be allowed to take the final examination which will eventually affect the final score.

Although some lecturers might have their own rules applied in their individual classes, the maximum limit for arriving late in the classroom is 15 minutes, with 30 minutes allowed during examinations.

 

Grading System

The Vice Rector of Academic Affairs of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia hereby informs that according to the Minister of Education Decree No. 232/U/2000 Chapter V Capital 12 Clause 3:

The assessment is determined by the letter grades A, B, C, D, and E which is equivalent to 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0. Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia Grading System is described as follows:
